After appearing on an episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that politicians could learn a thing or two from drag queens.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter about her appearance on the show Thursday night, Pelosi said, “This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show.”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars” airs on VH1 and features drag queens competing against one another a series of challenges. The final two contestants square off in a lip-sync battle to determine the winner.
When asked which song she’d like to lip-sync to against Donald Trump, Pelosi slammed the president for his policies and accused him of “lip-syncing” on certain issues.
“You know what? Donald Trump’s policies, the respect I think his administration should have for the LGBTQ community, that’s more important than the fun we might have about his hair or any song he might lip sync,” Pelosi said. “Though I do think he’s lip syncing some of his policies, because when you talk to him, he says, ‘I really am with you on this’ And then his policy goes and does something else.”
While on the show, the San Francisco Democrat encouraged the audience to vote.
“Voting is everything. I mean people sacrifice so much in our country for people to have the right to vote,” she said. “It’s a blessing but we have to use it. If you don’t vote, you don’t count. And you count.”
The show’s host RuPaul is famous for telling contestants to “sashay away” when dismissing them, and Pelosi was asked how much she wants Trump to “sashay away” on a scale of 1-10.
“It goes well beyond 10,” Pelosi said.
