The Islamic Center of San Antonio and San Antonio CrimeStoppers together have raised a total award of $250,000 for information to find 4-year-old Lina Khil, who went missing from an area playground in December.
Lina and her family, according to reports, are Afghan refugees.
According to a Monday CNN report, the Islamic Center of San Antonio has put up $200,000 for information leading to the child’s safe return alongside CrimeStoppers, which has announced it will give $50,000 for information “resulting in the arrest or indictment of a suspect accused of any involvement” in the child’s disappearance.
Lina, whose fourth birthday came and went over the last week, inexplicably went missing from the playground at her family’s apartment complex — San Antonio’s Villas Del Cabo.
The child’s family reported the little one missing after she and her mother were visiting the playground. Authorities say that Lina and her mother were at the playground between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. when the mother left for a brief time and returned to find her daughter missing. Police said that Lina was playing with other children when he mother left.
In the hours following her disappearance, police said that they believed the child was in grave or immediate danger and requested FBI assistance.
