Anthony Scaramucci ‘Taken Apart’ By FNC’s Steve Hilton In Fiery Interview, Watched By Trump [VIDEO]

August 10, 2020 by Kristie McDonald

One time Trump supporter and short term White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, clashed Sunday night with Fox News’ Steve Hilton, the host of “The Next Revolution,” after he criticized President Trump for essentially failing at every turn in the White House and how there is a need to “re-engineer” the entire Republican Party.

Scaramucci sold himself as a believer in “a tender side to conservative populism,” claiming the president has failed in his mission and opted to lead with the economy, of all things, as an example of this.

“Number one, the economy is upside down,” he said. “You have 13% unemployment for the African American community.”

“Number two, he’s politicized the science around the pandemic… and the last thing and the most important thing for me, about the Republican Party, we are shrinking the tent, and so in order to expand the tent, we have to reframe and re-engineer the Republican Party,” Scaramucci added.

Trump would respond to the assertions leveled, blasting Scaramucci in a tweet.

.@Scaramucci, who just made a fool of himself as he got taken apart by @SteveHiltonx, only lasted 11 days in his favorite of all time Administration, before being fired for, again, making a fool of himself. Anthony is a loser who begged to come back. I said “No Thanks”.

The president tweeted: “[email protected], who just made a fool of himself as he got taken apart by @SteveHiltonx, only lasted 11 days in his favorite of all time Administration, before being fired for, again, making a fool of himself. Anthony is a loser who begged to come back. I said “No Thanks.’”

Bizpac Review reports,

Hilton drilled down to the specifics of Biden’s policies, beginning with regulations, noting that his guest once spoke against regulations and now supports even higher levels under a Biden administration.

When Scaramucci, who is heading up a super PAC to turn out disaffected Republican voters to support the Democratic nominee, claimed he did not, Hilton reminded him of the position his candidate has taken here.

“But it is because you’re backing Joe Biden who wants that, too. You’re backing those policies. If you don’t want it why are you backing the candidate who supports that?” he asked.

Scaramucci responded by attacking Trump for bullying people.

“He bullies suburban housewives on his Twitter feed,” he said. “He can’t do that as the American president.”

In a quick-moving interview, Hilton switches gears and talks about Biden’s tax plan.

“Are you aware that in the tax plan you are now supporting the lowest paid will be hit harder than almost any other group. Did you know that?” he asked.

The best Scaramucci could offer was that Biden’s tax plan “has not been passed into law,” suggesting that it would look different by the time it would be passed into law.

He claimed the U.S. is in the “worst recession since the 1933 depression,” because of the mishandling of the pandemic.

“He’s not going to get us out of it, he’s a divider,” Scaramucci said. “He divides people. He incenses people. He is creating hate in our democracy.”

Hilton summed up his guest’s position thusly, “It sounds to me like you are saying people should support Biden in the hopes that he won’t actually do what he says he’ll do on taxes.”

Appointing himself the vanguard of the Republican Party, Scaramucci stuck with his talking points that Trump is “destroying” the GOP, claiming the president “is blowing a racist dog whistle.”

“You go on about racism, you’re now supporting a candidate who keeps saying racist things,” he said. “He literally just said the other day he thinks black people are all the same, ‘You ain’t black if you’re not voting for me,’ earlier in his clear career, he has a long career of making racist statements and now you’re supporting him.”

Scaramucci tried to dismiss Biden’s previous actions as gaffes, citing his primary win in South Carolina to say, “Nobody thinks Joe Biden is a racist.”

He fell back on his claim that the president is a bully, saying how you treat people speaks volumes about who you are.

“You’ve said that many times and you’re all over the place, and you talk about politics because you don’t want to talk about the policy,” Hilton interjected.

Getting back to policy, the Fox News host brought up school choice, pointing out that Scaramucci supports a candidate who wants to shut down a school choice program.

“I can’t speak for the other ‘Never Trumper’ Republicans but I’m playing the long game,” Scaramucci replied, skirting the issue. “I’m looking at the future, I’m looking at my millennial children and I’m looking about how we are going to re-knit the party so we can make that an all-inclusive party and the principles of that party.”
