Paternity tests are being administered to Gershon Fuentes, whose bond was set at $2 million. He admitted raping the girl on at least two occasions.
Attention was drawn to the case last month after reports that the girl had to travel to Indiana to obtain an abortion.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion is now illegal in Ohio after fetal cardiac activity can be detected, or around six weeks.
“Imagine being that little girl,” President Biden said Friday in a speech opposing abortion restrictions. “I’m serious. Just imagine being that little girl.”
“We rejoice anytime a child rapist is taken off the streets,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said once news of the arraignment broke.
