After the Biden administration marked the anniversary of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6 on Thursday, former President Donald Trump, who was arguably the subject of Biden’s speech, issued a statement on the events.
Biden, who mentioned Trump over and over again but not by name, referring to him as “the former president,” clearly in an attempt to both erase and vilify him, blamed President Trump for the riot on Jan. 6. Biden claimed to attempt to unify the country, but as Democrats have been trying to do since Trump launched his candidacy for president, the way he attempted to do that was to unify the country against “the former president.”
