Donald Trump told supporters in New Hampshire on Monday that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick have endorsed his presidential campaign, as the New York Republican made his final push for votes ahead of Election Day.
The Republican Nominee said Mr. Brady told him it was OK to share the news with the rest of the world at the fourth of five planned campaign stops Monday.
“Tom Brady, great guy, great guy, great friend of mine, great, great, champion, unbelievable winner, he called today and he said, ‘Donald I support you, you are my friend, and I voted for you,’” Mr. Trump said in Manchester, New Hampshire, whipping the crowd into a frenzy.
Mr. Trump also said Mr. Belichick penned him a letter praising his candidacy.
“He writes, coach Belichick, ‘Congratulations on a tremendous campaign,’” Mr Trump said, apparently reading from the letter. “‘You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media and have come out beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing.’”
“‘I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable,’” Mr. Trump said. “‘Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again.’”
