When asked by John Hines of OAN if there were “national security implications” involved, Jackson responded, “Well sure, look at what’s going on … In that position, if you have cognitive issues, it’s going to be a national security issue regardless.”
Jackson said last week that Biden’s mental fitness for office was “dangerous” and that the president needed to under cognitive testing “immediately.”
Jackson’s remarks from last week came after Biden had been widely criticized for a series of remarks that he made in recent days about what is going on with respect to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
“Biden is unable to articulate the major foreign policy objectives of his administration,” Jackson tweeted this week. “Everytime [sic] he tries, the White House swoops in to ‘correct’ what he said. He has NO IDEA what’s going on. His cognitive decline is TOO MUCH. Time to RESIGN!”
“Is Joe Biden losing it? He’s always had ‘gaffes’ but what we’re seeing is something different – something WAY WORSE,” Jackson later added. “He’s LOST. This is dangerous. He needs a COGNITIVE EXAM immediately!”
Jackson, who now represents Texas’ 13th Congressional District, reported to the White House Medical Unit (WHMU) during the Bush era in 2006, but he did not start as physician to the president until July 2013, a position that he served in until March 28, 2018. Jackson served as WHMU director from March 2010 through December 2014. Jackson also served as the first chief medical advisor to the president from February 2019 until December 2019.
Jackson has previously criticized Biden’s mental fitness for office with respect to the war in Europe, saying that Biden was “not fit to be our president right now.”
“The whole country is seeing his mental cognitive issues on display for over a year now, and there’s really no question in most people’s minds that there’s something going on with him, that he’s not cognitively the same as he used to be and, in my mind, not fit to be our president right now,” Jackson said during an interview. “Every time he gets up and talks to the American people, it’s not just the American people that are watching him speak, it’s the whole world, and that’s part of what the problem is here. He looks tired, he looks weak, he looks confused, he’s incoherent, and it sends a message of weakness all over the world, and they’re seizing up on that.”
“He’s got 40 years of tape, you can go back and look at this man, so it’s not like we don’t have anything to compare it to,” Jackson said. “You can go back and look, he’s always made gaffes, he’s always made missteps, but never like this. This is something different. These aren’t gaffes…. This is something much more serious.”
Jackson said that Biden’s mental fitness for office “was on full display during the debacle in Afghanistan” and that it could “get more Americans killed” and “ultimately get us in a war because of his lack of leadership.”
