Bizpac Review reports,
Appearing on “Meet the Press,” Giuliani was responding to a remark from Todd on whether the president’s legal team was intentionally delaying a possibility of him being interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller’s office.
“What I have to tell you is I’m not gonna be rushed into having [Trump] testify so that he gets trapped into perjury,” Giuliani said. “And when you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth, and he shouldn’t worry – well, that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth. He didn’t have a conversation–
“Truth is truth, I don’t mean to go like…,” Todd interjected with a laugh.
“No, it isn’t truth! Truth isn’t truth!” Giuliani shot back. “The president of the United States says “I didn’t…”
Todd responded by laughing even harder, while placing his head against his hand.
“Truth isn’t truth? Mr. Mayor do you realize… I … this is going to become a bad meme,” he then said.
“Don’t do this to me!” the former mayor shot back, mimicking Todd’s gesture.
“Don’t do ‘truth isn’t truth’ to me,” the NBC anchor said in return.
With Todd making no attempt to grasp the point he was making, Giuliani offered an example, but his annoyance with Todd was evident when he sarcastically called him a “genius.”
“Donald Trump says, ‘I didn’t talk about Flynn with Comey,’” he stated. “Comey says, ‘You did talk about it.’ So tell me what the truth is, if you’re such a genius!”
