Liberals are going after every performer scheduled to sing anywhere near Donald Trump’s inauguration this week, but thankfully not everyone is cracking under the pressure.

Country superstar Toby Keith is one of them. The man with 20 number one singles and over 30 million albums sold released a statement to Entertainment Weekly over the weekend that was quite the opposite of backing down.
“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” Keith said in the statement. “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”
Keith will perform at the Lincoln Memorial on January 19, the day before the inauguration, as a part of the “Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration.” He will be joined by several other acts, including 3 Doors Down and Lee Greenwood. Among those set to perform on Friday are the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and America’s Got Talent contestant Jackie Evancho.
Many musicians previously scheduled to perform, including Jennifer Holliday and opera singer Andrea Bocelli, have backed out because of fan criticisms and even death threats.
Keith is a registered Independent, not a Republican or a Democrat, but the America-first themes in many of his songs are a perfect fit for a Trump-style performance.
The country star got lots of support from conservatives and proud Americans on Twitter, naturally.
