Kellyanne Conway is a Jersey Girl, and she’s a Jersey Girl who’s embarrassed by Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez. Her Twitter bio says so.
“Jersey Girl Embarrassed by Bob Menendez,” reads the White House advisor’s Twitter bio. See:
The Daily Wire reports:
Kellyanne Conway also did a little trolling of Hillary Clinton on Monday night by referring to her as “the queen of abortion.”
“I’ve noticed also that the Democrats aren’t talking much about abortion this time and that’s because they tried that for so long,” she said on Fox News. “They tried that with the queen of abortion in 2016 and it backfired for them because so many women said, ‘Excuse me you gotta talk to me on all the issues.’”
As noted by The Hill, Conway’s troll of the Democratic senator, who stood trial for 18 counts of corruption, comes days after she removed her White House title from her Twitter bio without explanation. Fox News, however, introduced her by her proper title of White House counselor this week and the Trump administration has given no indication she has exited stage left. Her being “embarrassed” by Menendez as a Jersey native echoes the words of Bob Hugin, the senator’s GOP challenger, who said in an interview with AM 970 “The Answer” in New York that many Democrats in the state were “embarrassed” by the corruption charges.
Being that New Jersey is a solidly blue state, Republicans has only one game plan in the state: pound Menendez’s corruption charges until it becomes seared in every voter’s head. Menendez was alleged to have taken gifts from Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen in exchange for U.S. visas for the doctor’s girlfriends including Brazilian actress and porn pin-up star Juliana Lopes Leite.
Menendez also allegedly aided Melgen in an $8.9 million feud with Medicare as well as aiding him in a port security contract in the Dominican Republic.
Beyond that, Bob Hugin had little room and even had to criticize President Trumpon a few occasions to appeal to moderate New Jersey voters.
According to The Washington Free Beacon, Hugin, out to unseat Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), has boldly predicted he will prove himself victorious on Tuesday night based on internal polling that gives him a slight lead over the incumbent. Hugin’s polling wildly contrasts with other polls that show him down as far as 15 points.
Speaking with the Free Beacon at a rally over the weekend, Hugin said that internal polling puts him up “a couple of points” over Menendez while expressing confidence in victory. “I feel good,” Hugin said, “but you can’t take anything for granted.”
Hugin also assured a crowd of supporters on Saturday night that Tuesday will be a day of victory.
“We’re a couple of days away from victory,” Hugin proclaimed at the rally. “The people of New Jersey deserve better because this guy has embarrassed us. Twenty-five years, and he’s failed us ethically and failed the people of New Jersey.”
“I am a leader and have been one my whole life,” said Hugin, adding that Tuesday’s election “will be about getting the vote out. Thank you for what you’ve done to get us here. Let’s get this ball over the goal line. We’re at the five-yard line, we’re going to push it over.”
A poll from Quinnipiac says otherwise and puts Menendez in the lead above Hugin by over 15 points, an improvement from an October poll that had him ahead by just seven points.
