The Lexington Police Department in Kentucky went viral for their response to a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts truck catching fire and losing all the goods inside.
The NYPost reports,
The driver of a Krispy Kreme doughnut truck noticed his vehicle was smoking on New Yearâs Eve, so he called 911.
And while the driver was able to safely escape before fire crews arrived and flames engulfed the truck, the doughnuts didnât make it.
The Lexington Police Department posted a few photos online depicting the heartbroken officers with their heads cast down.
âNo words,â the officers wrote, and their colleagues from across the nation â from Colorado to Chicago â were quick to respond with messages of support.
âWe feel your loss,â the University of Kentucky Police Department wrote. âWe donut what else to say.â
A North Carolina cop added his condolences.
âIn this line of work, some things canât be unseen,â he wrote. âMy thoughts are with @lexkypolice officers at this time of tragedy.â
Other commenters online noted the doughnuts were really âkrispyâ after the box truck fire.
The investigation into the fire is ongoing as the cause is unknown.
