The news anchor has now taken another stab at the President-elect, accusing him of using his influence for personal business deals.
Maddow, speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers said this is the first time in US history the president could use his powers to “enrich” himself.
She said: “We’ve never had a president in the modern era that hasn’t shown us their tax returns.
“We have never had a president who has had active financial investments – where he could make decisions as president that could enrich himself.
“But that is happening now, it is not just a threat. It is happening now – and I think to a certain extent we are going to have to get used to the fact that Donald Trump fans like that he’s a businessman.
“They like that he made himself very rich, and maybe they are going to expect him to make decisions that could enrich himself further as president.”
But then in a bizarre twist, Maddow mocked the President-elect and said he is scared of windmills that provide renewable energy.
The news anchor raved: “He doesn’t like windmills – they’re his bogey man.
“When he wakes up sweating in the night, he’s like ‘is it spinning? Is it white?’
“He’s very afraid of windmills, they terrify him.”
She then hinted he would use his foreign policy powers to gift Scotland something they desire from America in exchange for removing the windmills that surround his Aberdeenshire golf course.
Her comments once again attracted the wrath of the President-elect’s supporters, who singled Maddow out for more criticism.
