MSNBC’s Brian Williams, the teller of tall tales who turned “fake news” into an art form, joined the failed Democrat deniers claiming that it was ‘fake news’ that led to Donald Trump’s victory at the polls last month.
Williams lost his position at the “NBC Nightly News” anchor desk last year for fabricating stories on the air. He was later hired at MSNBC, the network’s bush league cable station.
The purveyor of tall tales newsman made his observations on his Wednesday telecast of “The 11th Hour with Brian Williams.”
“Another former general in the Trump circle is receiving new attention,” Williams explained. “His national security adviser-designate, Mike Flynn. Flynn’s son was fired by the Trump transition today for passing on fake news story via Twitter. But his dad, the retired Army three-star general has passed on some gems himself.”
“Here are a few: ‘Clinton is involved in child sex trafficking and has secretly waged war on the Catholic Church, as well as charges that the president is a ‘jihadi’ who ‘laundered’ money for terrorists.”
“As we talked about here last night, fake news played a role in this election and continues to find a wide audience,” Williams continued. “A BuzzFeed news study of Donald Trump‘s own tweets where they followed back news stories to their root source found more of them came from Breitbart originally than any other single source.”
Bizpac Review noted,
Hillary Clinton, another person known for fabricating stories, called on Congress to stop what she called the “epidemic of malicious fake news and false propaganda that flooded social media over the past year” because it is a “danger to the nation.”
The problem with that, of course, is when the government decides which news is fake and which is real, everything becomes state propaganda. This is what the First Amendment was designed to prevent.
