McMullin Rips President-Elect: ‘Trump is not a loyal American’

December 11, 2016 by Kristie McDonald

“It must be clear that Donald Trump is not a loyal American and we should prepare for the next four years accordingly,” McMullin wrote on Twitter.

It’s no surprise that former conservative independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin is no fan of Donald Trump and on Saturday accused him of not being “a loyal American.”

The Hill reports,

McMullin, a former CIA operative and House GOP aide, made the comment while slamming Trump’s reported pick of Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson for secretary of State.

“It must be clear that Donald Trump is not a loyal American and we should prepare for the next four years accordingly,” McMullin wrote on Twitter.

McMullin argued that with the selection of Tillerson, “Trump has identified a potential secretary of state unlikely to oppose Trump’s alignment with Putin.”

He also accused Trump of “purposely dismantling barriers that protect our nation from dangerous Russian subversion, which he has also welcomed.”

Tillerson’s ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin through his work with Exxon and its presence in Russia came into immediate focus Saturday as reports emerged that Trump would pick him to become the nation’s next top diplomat.

Trump also caused a stir Friday after his transition team slammed the CIA following a Washington Post report that the intelligence agency had concluded Russia meddled in the presidential election to help Trump.
