“I have decided to pursue a new challenge,” she told her audience on Tuesday’s “The Kelly File,” adding that it was a “tough decision” to leave Fox News Channel where she has “grown up” over the last 12 years.

Kelly explained that she needed more “human connection” in her life, especially with her three children.
“So, I’ll be leaving Fox News at week’s end and starting a new adventure, joining the journalists at NBC News who I deeply admire,” she said.
Critics were quick to question the logic in that. One comment summed up the problem with a touch of sarcasm:
“I want to spend more time with my kids so I’m leaving for a daytime, Sunday and event commentary job.”
She shared details of her new role at NBC and thanked them for the opportunity. She was also “deeply thankful” to Fox for giving her “every chance a young reporter could ask for.”
Reactions on Twitter following her remarks on Tuesday continued to be mixed, with some viewers sad to see her go and others who felt it was about time.
Welcome @megynkelly to @NBCNews Glad you’re joining us!

@LesterHoltNBC I hope that @megynkelly can make @NBCNews more “fair and balanced” as right now it’s a Liberal cesspool of lies.

Words cannot describe how happy I am that @megynkelly is finally leaving Fox News. She’s the complete opposite of fair and balanced.
