“Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior…” NBC News senior vice president Noah Oppenheim, who oversees the “Today” show, announced in an internal memo that Billy Bush has been suspended from the show.
“I know we’ve all been deeply troubled by the revelations of the past 48 hours,” Oppenheim wrote in the memo. “Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape. NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter.”

The former Access Hollywood anchor was featured in the bombshell video released over the weekend by the Washington Post that captured Donald Trump saying lewd things about women — Bush can be heard laughing and joking along with Trump.
Bush half-apologized for his role in the crude “locker room banter,” as Trump described the exchange.
“Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed,” he said in a statement. “It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”
In a strange twist to the controversy, the New York Times reported Sunday that a call to Bush’s office at NBC headquarters went to a voice mail message that said: “You’ve reached Billy Bush’s office. He’s busy making America great again.”
The Times said the message appeared to be recorded by an assistant.
