Later, Boebert made a now-famous outburst when Biden spoke of veterans.
As Biden talked about military members exposed to toxic fumes from “burn pits,” he stated:
“When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best-trained warriors were never the same.
“Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness. A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin.
“I know.”
Rep. Boebert then drew attention to the 13 American service members who were killed at the Kabul airport during Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, shouting out:
“You put them in. Thirteen of them!”
“Thirteen of them”- @laurenboebert was AWESOME last night. As Joe AGAIN exploited the death of “Beau”-FALSELY implying that he was a Battlefield casualty, SHE REMINDED US OF THE HIDEOUS WITHDRAWAL FROM AFGHANISTAN. AND THE THIRTEEN AMERICANS WHO DIED NEEDLESSLY. pic.twitter.com/QIqHV9Nf8J

Needless to say, Democrats condemned the outspoken actions of Boebert and Greene.
Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) told Business Insider:
“I don’t know that I belong to the same human race as someone who thinks it makes sense to yell at someone when they’re talking about their dead son, and veterans who are suffering because of wounds incurred during their service.
“So I think it was a disgraceful moment, but we’ve come to expect it from those members, sadly.”
Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison said in response to a tweet calling Boebert and Greene “trashy”:
“They might as well have been wearing hefty bags… it was that sitting in the garage for a week type of trash.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had her moment to lambast the two Republicans at her weekly Thursday press conference on March 3, 2022.
A reporter asked:
“On the State of the Union, we did see numerous outbursts from representatives Boebert and Greene during President Biden’s speech.
“As I’m sure you probably remember, when Congressman Joe Wilson yelled, ‘You lie,’ at President Obama in 2009, the House actually passed a resolution of disapproval on that. We haven’t heard any talk of that now.
“But I’m wondering, just what is your reaction to those outbursts? Should any action be taken? And what does it say about those?”
Pelosi responded:
“Let me just say this, I agree with what Senator Lindsey Graham said. Shut up. That’s what he said to them.
“I think they should just shut up. Thank you all very much.”

Pelosi left the podium without addressing the question of potential action against the representatives, and without mentioning her own display of tearing up President Trump’s State of the Union speech in 2020.
Pelosi’s statement about Lindsay Graham was apparently in reference to a caught-on-camera moment after Boebert’s interruption regarding the 13 service members who were killed.
In the video embedded below, Graham can be seen saying something after Boebert says “Thirteen of them.”
Many have interpreted Graham to be mouthing, “Shut up,” although the words are not truly clear.
Boebert, for her part, stuck by her own words.
In a tweeted response to Pelosi’s command to “just shut up,” Boebert added a video of Pelosi tearing up President Trump’s State of the Union address, and wrote:
“So Fancy Nancy is upset about me speaking out at the State of the Union.
“What’s she so torn up about?
“I will not ‘shut up’ about Biden’s failure in Afghanistan and the 13 heroes we lost because of it.”
