Nancy Pelosi played the victim card on Wednesday when she blamed the salon where she flouted coronavirus restrictions for setting her up. Then she called for the salon to apologize.
“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times,” Pelosi said. “As it turns out, it was a set up, and so I take responsibility for falling for a setup. And that’s all I’m going to say on that.”
The Free Beacon reports,
But that was not all she said, since the next question was about a barber who said Pelosi owes the service industry an apology. “I think that this salon owes me an apology for setting this up,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi visited the salon Monday in defiance of local ordinances put in place to combat the spread of the coronavirus. San Francisco guidance allowed salons to reopen on Tuesday for outdoor services only, but Pelosi was seen on security footage inside the salon not wearing any face covering. Local ordinances require customers to wear a mask while getting their hair done.
Pelosi excused her lack of face covering by saying that she doesn’t wear a mask while washing her hair.
A Pelosi spokesman said the business told Pelosi she could come in on Monday. The salon owner told Fox News that an independent hair stylist who rents a chair from the owner provided the service for Pelosi.
“The Speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements,” Pelosi’s spokesman said Tuesday after news of Pelosi’s visit broke. “This business offered for the Speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The Speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment.”
