President-elect Donald Trump announces Sprint set to bring 5,000 jobs back from overseas.
President-Elect Donald Trump apparently was not idly boasting when he said his victory would result in a constant stream of wins for American jobs.
On Wednesday, Trump announced a decision by Sprint to bring 5,000 jobs back to the United States.
Lifezette reports,
Trump said Sprint officials called him to tell him that 5,000 jobs that were overseas are coming back to America.
Trump said he also learned OneWeb, a new Internet company, is going to be hiring 3,000 people. Trump did not indicate what states the jobs would be located in.
But it is another sign that Trump relishes his role as the chief economic-development officer for the United States.
In other remarks from his Florida estate at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said he received a call from President Obama.
“He called me, we had a very nice conversation,” said Trump. “We had a general conversation. Very, very nice.”
The call came after Trump and Obama clashed in public with Trump proclaiming the transition was not smooth. Trump has been complaining about decisions that Obama has been making, mainly abstaining from a resolution at the United Nations to condemn Israeli settlements on the West Bank.
Trump criticized the U.N. for not living up to its potential, and suggested U.S. membership and funding was a waste of time.
