San Antonio Police Department officers disobeyed city law on Tuesday when they donned Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” ball caps during a motorcade escort of the GOP candidate.

More than a dozen local cops were sporting the red hats during their motorcycle escort of the Republican nominee to and from San Antonio International Airport, according to a video Trump posted on Twitter.
But the city’s police organization is not thrilled with the behavior of the officers, whose job it is to enforce the law.
“You can’t do that kind of stuff while on duty,” Mike Helle, president of the San Antonio Police Officers Association told My San Antonio. City law prohibits employees from taking part in political activities while on the job.
Helle added he does not expect the officers to be severely punished for their actions.
“It seems kind of benign,” Helle said. “They’d probably get a written reprimand or counseling to not do that sort of thing on duty.”
Following the return trip to the airport, Trump thanked the officers for their service and support, throwing them the thumbs-up sign before boarding his private plane. Trump was in the region for fundraisers in San Antonio and Dallas.
