Despite all the good he’s done for the country in under four years, why isn’t President Trump more popular?
It’s obvious to everyone, even his supporters and those who acknowledge his many accomplishments during his first term as president.
The single biggest reason reason President Trump isn’t more popular is because people don’t like him personally.
After all, who really wants Joe Biden? Compare the reasons people support Trump and the reasons people support Biden.
A Pugh Research Center poll cited the reasons people support Donald Trump:
Leadership or performance – 23%
His stance on issues or policy positions -21%
He is not Biden -19%
He is for Americans – 17%
Vote for Republicans and against Democrats –16%
He tells it like it is/his personality – 11%
By contrast, voters support Biden because:
He is not Donald Trump – 56%
Leadership or performance – 19%
Personality or temperament – 13%
His stance on issues or policy positions – 9%
Vote for Democrats and against Republicans – 7%
The poll shows: nobody really wants Joe Biden. On the issues, Americans do not like the Biden-Harris ticket.
Nobody is voting for Biden based on policy. Nobody is voting for Biden because they like his agenda. Nobody is voting for Biden because they like Biden. They’re voting for Biden because the don’t like Trump.
Is there any doubt in your mind that if President Trump could just reel himself in just a little bit that he’d blow the Democratic ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris away by a wide margin.
Sometimes you have to wonder whether Trump actually wants to get re-elected. All he has to do is exhibit a very small modicum of self-control in how and what he communicates and he’d win re-election in a landslide.
The entire election shapes up as a referendum on Donald Trump’s personality. Trump should easily be able to control this factor, and he should if he wants to win re-election.
