A Portland, Oregon, police officer was punched in the face by a protester Tuesday night in demonstrations following the murder in the death of George Floyd.

A video posted by the Oregonian newspaper shows a police officer and a protester wearing all black, and with his face covered, arguing on the street.

Upon the arrival of a second office, the protestor punches the first officer in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Portland police declared the protests to be an unlawful assembly and threatened those who did not disperse with arrest.

“An Officer is surrounded and punched in the face and ends up on the ground on his back with the suspect on top,” Portland police tweeted of the incident. “This was a very dangerous situation. Subject was arrested.”
