“Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning,” the president tweeted early Monday.
President Trump is blaming protesters and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) for chaos at airports across the country in the aftermath of his executive order on immigration.
“Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage,…..protesters and the tears of Senator Schumer. Secretary Kelly said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!”

The president on Friday signed an executive order that bars Syrian refugees indefinitely and halts the country’s refugee resettlement program for four months. The order also denies entry for 90 days to people from seven predominately Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Libya.Hours after the order was signed, reports emerged of people being detained upon arrival at U.S. airports.Protests broke out on Saturday and Sunday at airports across the country with demonstrators urging the government to welcome refugees and immigrants. Several Democratic lawmakers joined the protests at locations in various cities and some Republican lawmakers also expressed concern about the order and its implementation.
