Donald Trump is appearing large in Hillary Clinton’s rear view mirrors, and he hasn’t even started on her yet.
In a national head to head match up Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton holds just a 3-point lead over Donald Trump, according to a George Washington University Battleground Poll. The bipartisan Battleground Poll results fall within its 3.1 percent margin of error.
The poll revealed Clinton has 46 percent compared to Trump’s 43 percent; which shows Trump closing the gap fast.
There has long been an argument by Trump’s rivals that in a head to head contest, Trump can’t beat Clinton. Despite their shaky alliance, John Kasich still maintains that a vote for Ted Cruz is a vote for Hillary and that he is the only one that can beat her in an election.
Trump, however, dismisses that claim as he says, ‘1 for 38 Kasich’ has never been targeted and would fall like a rock in the election. Today may prove to be a bad day for Kasich as with today’s contests in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, he will almost certainly become ‘1 for 43 Kasich’.
On Fox News’ Hannity show, Rudy Giuliani commented on that alliance between Kasich and Cruz, saying the fact they got together is ‘devastating’ and that all republicans should now back Donald Trump. He went on to say that he still thinks Kasich would make a good running mate for Trump, but he also likes former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in that role.
“Kasich, I figure Kasich can make the difference in Ohio,” the former New York City mayor told Hannity,
“You can put the two of them together.”
Choosing Kasich would also give Trump
“some of the things some of the people are looking for,” said Giuliani, referring to Kasich’s experience as first a U.S. Representative and then as a popular two-term governor in Ohio.
