President Donald Trump fired up the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday, hitting topics from the media to Democrats, Robert Mueller’s Russia probe and even his former officials in a raucous speech that lasted about two hours.

The president was greeted with cheers and a standing ovation as he hugged the US flag on the CPAC stage, and appeared confident, relaxed and in charge as he addressed the annual gathering of conservatives.
After inviting the conservative activist attacked at Berkeley, Hayden Williams, to the stage, Trump announced that he will be signing an executive order to require all colleges to “support free speech.”
“He took a punch for all of us,” Trump said. “And we could never allow that to happen. And here is, in closing with Hayden, here’s the good news. He’s going to be a wealthy young man.”
“Today I’m proud to announce that I will be very soon signing an executive order requiring colleges and universities to support free speech if they want federal research dollars, ” he announced to cheers. “If they want our dollars, and we give it to them by the billions, they’ve got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people and old people to speak. Free speech. If they don’t, it will be costly. That will be signed soon.”

The marathon speech, the longest of his presidency, had Trump railing against special counsel Mueller and his team in an-expletive filled attack on how they have been trying to take him out with “bulls—” as well as mocking his former Attorney General Jeff Sessions by imitating his Alabama accent.
“Unfortunately you put the wrong people in a couple of positions and they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there and all of a sudden they’re trying to take you out with bulls—,” he said, slamming “the collusion delusion.”
The president took time to jab at his “Never Trump” opponents within the Republican Party, joking that “They’re on mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.”
He saved some of his fiery speech for slamming Democrats and policies like The Green New Deal.
“When the wind stops blowing, that’s the end of your electric: ‘Darling, is the wind blowing, I’d like to watch television,” he remarked, referring to the socialistic climate change plan.
“I like the Green New Deal, I respect it greatly, it should be part of the dialogue of the next election,” he said
Trump naturally also spoke about the southern US border issue and his national emergency declaration which earned him more applause.
“A lot of people talk about precedent. Precedent. That if we do this, the Democrats will use national emergency powers for something that we don’t want,” he said.
“They’re going to do that anyway, folks,” Trump added. “The best way to stop that is to make sure I win the election.”
