“We did it. We began this journey and they said … we didn’t have a chance but we knew we were going to win and we won,” Trump said with Melania, who was wearing an off-the-shoulder cream-colored gown, at his side.

“We really did something that’s so special and this evening is so special, and this whole day and yesterday, so incredible,” a tuxedo-wearing Trump said at the Liberty Ball.

He also took a pot shot at his political enemies.

“People that weren’t so nice to me were saying that we did a really good job today,” he said.

At their second gala, Trump got the Freedom Ball crowd at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center roaring when he asked if he should “keep the Twitter going.”

He said his Twitter account with its more than 20 million followers gives him “a way to bypassing dishonest media.”

Trump thanked his supporters, his Vice President Mike Pence and even gave a shout-out to God for helping with the weather.

The day started out dreary and it began sprinkling lightly during the swearing-in ceremony before clearing up later.

“It’s like God was looking down on us,” he said.

They danced to the Frank Sinatra hit, “My Way,” sang by Erin Boheme, who also entertained the gala crowd earlier.

During the dance, Trump mouthed some of the words and held Melania’s hand near his.

About halfway through, Pence and his wife and Trump’s extended family, including his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, joined them on stage.
