President-elect Donald Trump is seeking top-secret security clearances for his adult children, CBS News reported on Monday.
The Hill reports,
The real estate mogul has asked the White House if he can obtain such clearances for Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr., as well as his son-in-law Jared Kushner.CBS reports that Trump’s children plan run his businesses while he serves and also act as unpaid national security advisers, because he isn’t permitted to hire those related to him.
Trump’s children are currently serving on his presidential transition team.
The clearances and multiple roles could bring up potential conflicts of interest within the incoming administration.
Trump’s lawyer announced last week that the businessman’s children would operate a “blind trust” for their father.
