Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in a national poll released Monday morning, adding 6 points since the Republican National Convention.
Trump now leads his likely general election rival by 3 points, 48 to 45 percent, in the CNN/ORC Poll.
Clinton had a 7-point lead, 49 to 42 percent, in the same poll before the GOP convention.
In a four-way race, Trump now has 44 percent support, compared to 39 percent for Clinton, 9 percent for Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson and 3 percent for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Forty-six percent view Trump favorably, pollsters found, up from 39 percent before last week’s GOP convention. Forty-three percent say Trump is honest and trustworthy, an increase from 38 percent before the event. Thirty-nine percent also say they would be proud of Trump as president, while 32 percent said that before the Cleveland gathering.
