Super Tuesday Wins For Trump, Kasich And Clinton, Rubio Loses His Home State Of Florida To Trump And Calls It Quits!
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton won critical primaries, while Gov. John Kasich’s victory in his home state of Ohio raised the chances of a historic GOP convention battle.
Trump Up . . . Rubio Out!
A humiliating loss for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, as the Republican party poster boy takes a Trump beating in his home state and decides to call it quits. As expected Trump dominates Florida and gains all 99 delegates.
Clinton moved closer to the Democratic nomination by winning both Florida and North Carolina. She stopped Bernie Sanders in the Midwest by taking Illinois and Ohio. Seems nothing can stop her now . . . except Trump, or the FBI!
The Republican Party, moved closer to the possibility of a contested convention as Kasich’s win in his home state of Ohio deprived Trump of 66 delegate making it more difficult for the billionaire to reach the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the GOP race.
Trump did, however, dominate the night as he wins the biggest contests of the night, taking Illinois, North Carolina, all of Florida’s 99 delegates to give him a total of 621 of the 1,237 needed to win.
“This was a great evening,” he said. “This was an amazing evening.”
Trump and Clinton both lead Missouri by less then 1/2 of one percent. The recount law in Missouri allows a second-place contender to request a recount if the margin of victory is less than half a percentage point. As the count stands now, both margins of victory are so small that both Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz would be able to request a recount to verify the results.
