Former California House candidate Erin Schrode (D) noted on Twitter that Adolf Hitler was TIME’s Man of the Year in 1938, and that Trump was named as such in 2016, asking followers to discuss the dichotomy. The discussion with Tucker Carlson that followed was surreal.
It’s not nice to call someone an airhead but when they spout a complete load of nonsense about Donald Trump and his appointees, someone has to put them in their place and call them out for what they are.
Scrode was invited on to Carlson’s show after she Tweeted,
Adolf Hitler was @TIME Magazine’s Man of the Year in 1938.
Donald Trump is TIME’s Person of the Year in 2016.

Erin Schrode was upset that Trump was named Time’s ‘Person of the Year’ and compared that to Hitler getting the same ‘honor’. She was upset that he is appointing so many ‘bad people’ to his cabinet.
Schrode began,
“I think it’s very important that we are critical, that we do not normalize or sanitize the rhetoric or actions of Donald Trump or the ghastly appointees to his new administration,” she went on.
After accusing President-elect Donald Trump of “hate speech” and “name-calling,” Carlson couldn’t take anymore of it.
“You just compared this guy to Hitler, and then with a straight face, you’re going to accuse him of hate speech,” he said. “I can barely hear, the irony alarm is so loud in the background.”
